Crossmark Policy

Crossmark Policy

NexaAssist Journal of Inclusive Technology (NAJIT) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, transparency, and currency of its published scholarly record. The journal supports the principles of Crossmark, a service provided by Crossref that enables readers to identify the current status of scholarly publications and determine whether significant post-publication updates have been recorded.

Through Crossmark implementation, where formally activated, NAJIT aims to provide a reliable mechanism for identifying corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, withdrawals, and other substantive updates affecting published research in assistive technology, digital accessibility, and inclusive educational technology.

Purpose of Crossmark

Crossmark provides a standardized mechanism for informing readers about the current status of a scholarly publication. When Crossmark is implemented on a NAJIT article, readers may use its indicator to determine whether the publication remains current or has been affected by a significant post-publication update.

Crossmark may also provide access to registered publication metadata and editorial information, where such information has been made available by the journal. This helps readers verify the status and publication history of scholarly content.

Version of Record

The article published on the official NAJIT journal platform constitutes the authoritative Version of Record (VoR). NAJIT is committed to maintaining this scholarly record and providing transparent notification when a significant post-publication change affects the status, attribution, interpretation, reliability, or citation of a published article.

Updates Covered by This Policy

Significant post-publication updates that may be recorded or linked through Crossmark include:

  • Corrections addressing significant errors that do not invalidate the principal findings of an article.
  • Retractions when published research is demonstrated to be seriously unreliable or affected by major integrity concerns.
  • Expressions of Concern when substantial unresolved questions exist concerning a published article.
  • Withdrawals where withdrawal is appropriate under applicable publication and editorial policies.
  • Significant changes to authorship, attribution, or publication information that materially affect the scholarly record.
  • Substantive corrections to reported accessibility evaluations, assistive technology performance, usability results, or technological intervention findings.
  • Other significant updates affecting the scholarly status, interpretation, reliability, or citation of the published work.
Minor Changes

Minor production changes that do not affect the meaning, interpretation, authorship, attribution, or reliability of a scholarly article may not require a formal Crossmark status update. These may include minor typographical, formatting, layout, or technical corrections that do not materially alter the published scholarly content.

Corrections, Retractions, and Updates

When an editorially significant change is required, NAJIT will normally preserve the original scholarly record and publish an appropriate notice explaining the change rather than silently replacing the original publication.

Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and other post-publication notices will be linked to the affected article where technically feasible. Relevant metadata will be updated in accordance with the journal's technical capabilities and applicable Crossref procedures.

Post-Publication Update Process
01
Issue Identified
An error, authorship concern, research-integrity issue, or other significant problem affecting published content is identified or reported.
02
Editorial Assessment
The Editorial Team assesses the reported issue, supporting evidence, and potential effects on the reliability of the article.
03
Update Notice
When required, NAJIT publishes an appropriate correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other formal update notice.
04
Record Linking
The update notice and affected publication are linked where technically feasible to maintain a transparent publication history.
05
Metadata Update
When Crossmark participation is active, relevant update metadata is registered or maintained in accordance with Crossref requirements so readers can verify the current publication status.
Crossmark Display

When Crossmark is formally implemented by NAJIT, a Crossmark indicator may appear on applicable digital versions of published articles. Readers may select the indicator to verify whether the article is current or whether a significant update has been registered. The indicator will be displayed only after the necessary Crossmark configuration and metadata registration have been completed.

Publisher Responsibility

NAJIT and CV. Erukasyah Lagaliora Publishing are responsible for maintaining the journal's published scholarly record and for ensuring that significant corrections, retractions, and other publication updates are documented accurately and transparently. When Crossmark services are implemented, the publisher will support the appropriate registration and maintenance of publication-status metadata.

Reporting Concerns About Published Content

Readers, authors, reviewers, and members of the scholarly community who identify potential errors or research-integrity concerns in NAJIT publications are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office. Credible concerns will be assessed in accordance with the journal's Correction and Retraction Policy and Allegations of Misconduct Policy .

Crossmark Participation Status

Publication of this policy does not indicate that NAJIT has already activated or implemented Crossmark. Formal use of Crossmark requires appropriate Crossref participation, technical configuration, registration of applicable metadata, and ongoing maintenance of publication-update records. The journal will announce active Crossmark participation only after successful implementation has been confirmed.
