Archiving Policy

Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

Instructional Design and Ethical Pedagogy (IDEP) is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and maintaining long-term access to the journal’s intellectual record. The journal supports distributed digital-preservation mechanisms available through Open Journal Systems, including LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, subject to formal activation, registration, technical configuration, and participation in the relevant preservation networks.

LOCKSS

LOCKSS, or Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe, is a distributed digital-preservation system that enables participating libraries to collect and preserve authorized copies of scholarly content. Multiple preserved copies may be compared and repaired when content is damaged, altered, corrupted, or no longer available from the journal’s primary website.

CLOCKSS

CLOCKSS, or Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe, is a distributed preservation archive based on LOCKSS technology. It is designed to preserve scholarly publications securely and to make preserved content openly available when the original publication becomes permanently unavailable following an officially recognized trigger event.

Preservation Approach

IDEP seeks to preserve published articles, issue metadata, supplementary materials, and related publication records through appropriate technical and institutional mechanisms.

Preservation procedures may include regular data backup, secure server management, format maintenance, metadata preservation, repository deposit, and participation in recognized digital-preservation networks.

Preservation Status

Publication of this policy does not by itself indicate that IDEP content is currently archived in LOCKSS or CLOCKSS. Availability in these networks is subject to technical configuration, network eligibility, formal participation, successful content deposit, and verification by the relevant preservation service.

IDEP will update this policy when its participation in a preservation network has been formally activated and confirmed. The journal remains committed to protecting the accessibility, authenticity, integrity, and continuity of its published scholarly record.
