Crossmark Policy

Crossmark Policy

Instructional Design and Ethical Pedagogy (IDEP) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, transparency, and currency of its published scholarly record. The journal supports the principles of Crossmark, a Crossref service that enables readers to identify the current status of published scholarly content and determine whether significant post-publication changes have been made.

Through Crossmark implementation, where formally activated, IDEP seeks to provide readers with a reliable mechanism for identifying corrections, retractions, withdrawals, and other significant updates associated with published articles.

Purpose of Crossmark

Crossmark provides a standardized mechanism for informing readers about the current status of a scholarly work. When Crossmark is implemented on an IDEP article, readers may use the Crossmark indicator to determine whether the publication remains current or has been affected by a significant post-publication update.

Crossmark information may also provide or link to relevant publication metadata and editorial information where such information has been registered and made available by the journal.

Version of Record

The article published on the official IDEP journal platform constitutes the Version of Record. IDEP is committed to maintaining this scholarly record and to providing transparent notice when a significant post-publication change affects the status, interpretation, reliability, or citation of a published work.

Updates Covered by This Policy

Significant post-publication updates that may be recorded or linked through Crossmark include:

  • Corrections addressing significant errors that do not invalidate the principal findings of an article;
  • Retractions where a published article is determined to be seriously unreliable or affected by major research or publication-integrity concerns;
  • Expressions of Concern where serious unresolved questions exist regarding a published article;
  • Withdrawals where withdrawal is appropriate under the journal's editorial and publication policies;
  • significant updates to authorship or other publication information where the change materially affects attribution or interpretation; and
  • other substantive post-publication updates that affect the scholarly status, crediting, interpretation, or reliability of the work.
Minor Changes

Minor production changes that do not affect the scholarly meaning, interpretation, attribution, or reliability of an article may not require a Crossmark status update. These may include minor typographical, formatting, layout, or technical corrections that do not materially alter the published content.

Corrections, Retractions and Updates

Where an editorially significant change is required, IDEP will normally preserve the original scholarly record and publish an appropriate notice explaining the change rather than silently replacing the original publication.

Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and other post-publication notices will be linked to the affected article where technically possible. Relevant metadata will be updated or registered in accordance with the journal's technical capabilities and applicable Crossref procedures.

Post-Publication Update Process
01
Issue Identified
An error, integrity concern, authorship issue, or other significant matter affecting published content is identified or reported.
02
Editorial Assessment
The Editorial Team assesses the issue and determines whether a formal post-publication action is required.
03
Update Notice
Where required, IDEP publishes an appropriate correction, retraction, expression of concern, withdrawal, or other update notice.
04
Record Linking
The update notice and original publication are linked where technically possible to preserve a transparent publication history.
05
Metadata Update
When Crossmark participation is active, the relevant update metadata will be registered or maintained so readers can identify the current status of the publication.
Crossmark Display

When Crossmark has been formally implemented by IDEP, the Crossmark indicator may appear on applicable digital versions of published content. Readers may select the Crossmark indicator to verify whether the article is current or whether a significant update has been registered.

Publisher Responsibility

IDEP and CV. Erukasyah Lagaliora Publishing are responsible for maintaining the journal’s published scholarly record and for recording significant updates accurately and transparently when Crossmark services are implemented.

Reporting Concerns About Published Content

Readers, authors, reviewers, or other members of the scholarly community who identify a potential error or integrity concern in an IDEP publication are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office. Credible concerns will be assessed in accordance with the journal's Correction and Retraction Policy and Allegations of Misconduct Policy.

Crossmark Participation Status

Publication of this policy does not by itself indicate that IDEP has completed technical implementation or registration for Crossmark. Full Crossmark participation is subject to appropriate Crossref registration, metadata configuration, implementation of the Crossmark mechanism, and ongoing maintenance of publication-update records.
