Instructional Design and Ethical Pedagogy (IDEP) respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other users of the journal platform. Personal information collected through the journal website is used only for legitimate editorial, scholarly communication, publishing, administrative, and journal-management purposes.
Personal information will not be intentionally sold, rented, or disclosed for unrelated commercial purposes. Access to personal data is limited to individuals, service providers, or authorities who reasonably require such information for legitimate journal operations, technical services, legal obligations, or publication-integrity procedures.
Information collected through the IDEP journal platform may include:
- name and academic or professional title;
- email address and other contact information;
- institutional affiliation, department, organization, and country;
- ORCID, researcher identifiers, academic profile information, and areas of expertise;
- account and user-profile information provided through the journal platform;
- manuscript submission information, authorship details, metadata, declarations, and supporting files;
- peer-review reports, editorial correspondence, revision history, and publication records;
- technical information generated through normal use of the journal website, where applicable.
Personal and professional information may be used for legitimate journal purposes, including:
- managing user accounts and journal registration;
- processing manuscript submissions;
- assigning editors and appropriate peer reviewers;
- conducting editorial screening and peer review;

- preparing accepted manuscripts for publication;

- supporting indexing, archiving, preservation, and scholarly discoverability;

Certain information relating to authors of published articles, including author names, institutional affiliations, ORCID identifiers where supplied, article metadata, correspondence information where intentionally published, and other bibliographic information, may become part of the permanent public scholarly record. Such information may also be transmitted to DOI registration agencies, indexing services, repositories, preservation systems, and other legitimate scholarly infrastructures.
IDEP applies a double-blind peer-review process. Reviewer identities and confidential review information are not disclosed to authors as part of the normal review process.
Reviewer reports, manuscript files, editorial correspondence, and unpublished research information must be treated as confidential and may be accessed only for legitimate editorial, quality-assurance, integrity, or administrative purposes.
Submitted manuscripts and unpublished research materials are treated as confidential documents. Editors, reviewers, journal staff, and other individuals involved in manuscript processing must not use unpublished information for personal, academic, financial, or professional advantage without appropriate authorization.
Information may be processed or shared with legitimate third-party services where necessary for journal operations, such as web hosting, Open Journal Systems infrastructure, DOI registration, similarity screening, metadata distribution, indexing, digital preservation, email communication, and other scholarly publishing services. Only information reasonably required for the relevant purpose should be used.
Where serious concerns involving research integrity, publication misconduct, legal obligations, or ethical violations arise, relevant information may be shared with appropriate institutions, ethics committees, research-integrity offices, funding bodies, legal authorities, or other competent parties when such disclosure is reasonably necessary and justified.
Personal information obtained through manuscript submission, peer review, editorial correspondence, or journal registration will not be sold or intentionally disclosed to advertisers for unrelated commercial marketing. Journal-related scholarly communications should comply with the IDEP Direct Marketing and Advertising policies.
IDEP and its publisher seek to apply reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect journal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, inappropriate disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No internet-based information system can provide absolute security; therefore, users should also protect their account credentials and immediately report suspected unauthorized access where appropriate.
Information associated with manuscript submissions, peer review, editorial decisions, published articles, corrections, retractions, and other publication records may be retained where necessary to maintain the integrity, accountability, and continuity of the scholarly record.
Published bibliographic information may be retained permanently because it forms part of the public scholarly record and may have been distributed to external scholarly databases and preservation services.
Registered users may review or update appropriate profile information through their journal account where the platform permits. Requests concerning correction of inaccurate personal information may also be submitted to the Editorial Office. Requests affecting published scholarly metadata will be assessed in light of the need to maintain an accurate and transparent scholarly record.
The journal platform may use cookies or comparable technical mechanisms required for account authentication, session management, website functionality, security, and platform operation. Technical information may also be generated through routine server and system processes. Such information should be used only for legitimate operational, security, analytical, or technical purposes.
IDEP may update this Privacy Statement when journal practices, technical systems, publishing services, or applicable requirements change. Material revisions should be reflected on the official journal website so that users can review the current privacy practices of the journal.
